Once You Try This Homemade Bread, You'll Never Want Store-Bought Again!
I started making bread when a friend gave me some bread she made in a bread machine one day. I was surprised by how delicious it was, but what amazed me even more was that you could simply put all the ingredients into the bread machine, and it would do everything else. I bought a bread machine after that and started making my own bread. As I experimented with various bread recipes, I discovered that making the dough in the bread machine and then shaping and baking it in the air fryer was the easiest and most delicious method. Since then, I’ve been making all kinds of bread.
What surprised me when I started making bread was that store-bought bread often contains many ingredients, including preservatives that may not be good for your health. Homemade bread, on the other hand, typically requires basic ingredients such as butter, salt, sugar, water or milk, and yeast. While homemade bread may become firm after a couple of days, it lacks the additives found in many store-bought options. Freezing allows me to preserve the freshness and softness of the bread.
Since having a child, I’ve been making homemade bread consistently. I never imagined I would be making so much bread at home. Every time my son’s friends come over, they praise the softness of the bread, asking where I bought such delicious bread. I make plenty of sandwich bread, freeze it right away, and have bread ready to eat anytime. The small size allows for quick baking in the air fryer, which is more convenient for me than using the oven, especially for smaller loaves. If you’re interested, I’ve written more about using the air fryer in this blog, so please check it out.

Bread Mold and Tips for Cutting Soft Bread
My bread mold was getting old, so I recently purchased a new one. It’s incredibly smooth and nice. I always grease the mold with butter or oil, ensuring the bread comes out easily and keeping the mold clean. I also have a larger size of the mold. However, cutting the soft bread in the bigger size can be a bit challenging due to its super-soft texture. You might find it easier to freeze the bread first before cutting, as it prevents the bread from getting smashed. While there are bread molds with serrated edges, I personally prefer flat molds as serrated ones leave marks on the bread.
Instructions for the Dough
- In a bread maker, add the ingredients in this order: butter, salt, sugar, milk powder, pancake mix, water, flour, and yeast. Then start the bread maker in the dough mode.
- After the dough is done, gently round it by pressing out the gas with your hands, cover, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Stretch the dough to about 7×12 inches, tap it to remove air, tightly roll it from the edge, ensuring a firm seal at the end, then place it seam side down in the mold. Cover and let it ferment for 40-60 minutes, allowing the dough to rise to nearly double its size, reaching about 0.5 inches below the top of the mold.”Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, adjusting based on your oven. In my small, high-heat air fryer, it typically takes 17 minutes. In my previous air fryer, it took 20 minutes.

Remove the mold from the oven, tap it to give a shock to the bread, and then carefully release the bread from the mold.
Wait until the bread cools down. Once cooled, slice the bread.
Pancake mix is completely optional. The reason I include pancake mix is that one day I accidentally added it, and it turned out so well. It added a little extra sweetness and fluffiness.
I always put the sliced fresh bread in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer. When my son wants to eat a slice of the bread, I take it out and microwave it for 20 seconds. It becomes so fresh and fluffy.

Delicious Grilled Lamb Made Perfectly in the Air Fryer
My oven is used for storage, and it takes a long time to heat up. So, I typically use an air fryer for baking or frying. It’s much faster and doesn’t require a lot of space. I’ve tried several different air fryers, and this GoWISE air fryer is the best! I recommended it to my friends, and they loved it too. Currently, it’s on sale for $79.30, including tax. If you’re looking for a compact oven air fryer, I highly recommend it.” Its dimensions are 12.75″D x 13″W x 14″H. Although it came with various accessories, I only used the grill and a few baking sheets. I wanted to cook quickly, clean up swiftly, and have more time to relax, so I even preferred to skip the time spent on attaching accessories.
