Easy and Budget-Friendly Recipe for Busy Moms
I have tried many chicken drumstick recipes and found out that this is one of the best and easiest. It’s a simple, flavorful, tender, and perfect main dish, and it’s budget-friendly too. I bought this cage-free chicken drumsticks of 7 for about $6. I am an ordinary mom who never learned or took any lessons of cooking, but this recipe came out like a restaurant quality. My son even said, “Oh, this is like a restaurant.”
Basically, you just mix the ingredients, marinate the chicken, and bake it. I usually marinate the chicken the night before cooking, so it absorbs more flavor and becomes juicy and tender. Once you marinate the chicken the night before, you can come home from work and simply put them in the oven or air fryer, so dinner is ready in no time. It’s a convenient and delicious option for busy days. I normally serve it with Jasmine rice and a side salad.

How did I come up with this recipe, and why is it so moist?
The secret ingredient is “Plain Yogurt.” A friend of mine, who is a private chef for famous people, told me that marinating with plain yogurt gives lamb more moisture. So, I tried this technique with chicken, and it worked very well. You don’t taste the yogurt at all, but instead, you experience more juiciness and tenderness. It’s a game-changer for making incredibly moist and delicious chicken drumsticks.Ingredients for serving 7 chicken drumsticks:
- 7 Chicken Drumsticks
- 30ml Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Basil
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Chicken Bouillon
- 30ml 2 minced garlic cloves Substituting 1 tsp of garlic powder for garlic cloves is okay
- 30ml A pinch of Salt
- 30ml A pinch of Pepper
- 30ml 1/4 cup Plain Yogurt
Instructions:
- Poke the chicken drumsticks with a fork or knife to allow the chicken to absorb the sauce better.
- Mix all the ingredients in a cup.
- Marinate the chicken drumsticks with the mixed ingredients for at least two hours. Overnight marination is even better.
- Air fry or bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, then flip over and bake for another 20 minutes. The cooking time may vary depending on your oven or air fryer.
